A PowerPoint presentation’s visual aid is only as good as how much it empowers the presenter’s message. When you need to create a presentation deck, most of the time should be spent on your content and message. It is a noticeable issue for me, as I spend a lot of time rearranging slides laid out in 4:3.PowerPoint templates for professional presentations The projector in the room has a 4:3 aspect ratio but the letterboxing is not a noticeable issue for projection If anything it makes the slides easier to see since students in the back don't have the bottom of the screen cut off. I write my beamer slides for class with the aspectratio=169 option. The method I selected was basically what I outlined in my question: But screwing with the paper size is strongly discouraged by beamer, so I don't know how much extra work that's going to cause. This might look a bit better than scaling 16cm by 9cm PDFs up to that size. Is there any part of this process that I could do a better way? I had thought about using beamerposter to set the paper size to 20.32cm by 11.43cm, then scaling all the fonts up. I'm just slightly worried it will be suboptimal in class because the projector is still 4:3 and I will have to show letterboxed slides. But if I produce slides in a 16:9 ratio, scale them and place them on the page with 1" margin at the top and 2" margin at the bottom, the left and right margins will be 1". With the top and bottom margins so constrained and a 4:3 aspect ratio of the logical slide, the left and right margins have to be 2". The answer is no without changing the aspect ratio of the slide. When I sent a proof-of-concept to the program coordinators they asked if I could make the left and right margins smaller. Then the version that I put on the projector in the classroom would not use pgfpages and wouldn't have the margins (why would it need them anyway?) ![]() Instead of coercing beamer to create margins on my slides, I am thinking about using pgfpages to rescale the slide's page size and place it on the physical page with the requested margins. I can use PDF2Keynote, then open in Keynote and save as PowerPoint. Producing PowerPoint is not going to be a big problem for me. I have a workflow but I'm asking if there might be a better one. This is to align with other logo elements put on the screen later and to allow for subtitles. ![]() They have asked me to produce PowerPoint slides at the standard (standard for PPT, that is) 10" by 7.5" size with a 1" margin on the top and a 2" margin on the bottom. I am working with a program at my university that will videorecord my lectures, take my slides, and bundle them together into a movie to be put on the web, iTunesU, etc. ![]()
